Active Members (AM)

Description: Qualify for Membership per by-laws

Rights and Benefits:

  • Right to vote
  • Free Scientific Programs and reduced cost for courses.
  • Included under Ethic standards and a review conducted if requested by someone either in the Society or a patient.
  • Name Listed in paper roster and on Website
  • Free Website page
  • Able to attend Member Only Events
  • Free CME/CE credits

Exploratory Member (EM)

Description: Needs to qualify for membership per by-laws or be enrolled in AC program in the PPSC.  Can be a member at this level for up to 3 years and afterward must either qualify for Active Membership or leave the Society.

Rights and Benefits:

  • Lower dues
  • Does NOT have the right to vote
  • Able to attend open Society events and courses at the same cost as that of an Active Member
  • Included under Ethics standards and a review conducted if requested by someone either in the Society or a patient.
  • Listing only on website and in paper roster. Does not have a web page of their own.
  • Free CME/CE credits

Student Member (SM)
Description: Does not qualify for membership as yet per by-laws

Rights and Benefits:

  • Includes IC (PPSC) students, MSW students, Psychology students, and Psychiatric residents
  • Able to attend open Society events and courses at the same rate as an Active Member
  • Listed on paper roster only
  • Are not included in Ethics Program as conducted by the NC Psa Society
